Sweetie Pie Dress
This is what I have been working on the "Sweetie Pie Dress", I usually do boy stuff, but this time I wanted to do something girlie. What's even better is I have 11 year old twin nieces that are perfect models for the girlie stuff, and they are gymnasts so that means they can model the tiny sizes.
The Sweetie Pie Pattern is roughly a size 6x - 8. It can be made with or with out a ruffle, I liked the idea of a ruffle so thats what I made. If you have a tall girl or like your girls to have long dresses leangth can be added to the hem line. My wonderful model has shorts on with the dress, it was real windy when we did the pictures.

Sneek A Peek At Sweetie Pie
I have been real busy since I got my long arm cast off and decided that I needed to post something GOOD, like a pattern to something never seen before on my site. The only thing that I could think of was this cute little dress that I saw a few months back in a old picture. My 5 year old asked to name it when I was drafting the pattern. I said yes, told him what it would look like and Sweetie Pie is what he came up with, I think it fits. I will be posting more about it later.

Then He Sailed Away
As promised here it is my kids "Nautical Pants Pattern" also known as my "Sailor Pants Pattern" and its now Free for you to use! This is the EXACT pattern I used to make my Sailor Pants and my Virginia Pants it was also the one I used to do my tutorial for drafting your own Sailor Pants/Shorts pattern with.
These pants are suitable for both boys and girls. I have done denim for boys and corduroy for girls it will work well with most types of fabric.
My son loves them, and wants me to make him some in other colors.

Hannah Play Set PDF
I miss the warm Summer weather so much that I am doing a "Summer in December Giveaway".
Yes, those in the northern hemisphere may not be able to use it yet but those in the Southern sure could with summer right around the corner.

Twin Vampires
I added sash from a dress as the ties, I had inserted regular ribbon and decided I did not like it so it went.
I added silver stitching all the way around just for the fun of it.
The original pattern was about 8" longer but I did not have enough black fabric to do them that long so I altered the pattern to accommodate.
They really are quite comfy even if you are an adult wearing a child's size.
This one grew hands at the shoulders and a special walking boot.
If your wondering my son Daniel took all of the pictures except the one of his hands coming out the top of the cape and the very first vampire shot, those I did.

Hannah Preview
OK , I know it has been two weeks since I have posted anything, I have been sick with a bronchial infection and have not felt the need to do any sewing or posting. This is what I was working on before I took a two week hiatus, it is called Hannah Play Set and the pattern for it. It consists of a tunic that ties at the shoulders and a pair of bottoms. This is just a preview so it is not on my pretty little model, I will be posting the pictures of it being worn soon.
My Model will be having a surgery done so it might be a while before I can get her to pose. When she gets better we will be showing little Hannah in the "Hannah play set".

Rust Shirt into Girls Tunic
Ever wonder what to do with old button down shirts that you don't wear any more or clothes that are just not the right size. Well, here is my version of a total shirt transformation on a thin corduroy button down that had too short sleeves into a little girls tunic.

Here are the Before shots and some of the begining stages of its transformation.
As you can see was a plain long sleeve button down shirt all exept for the inside lining to the buttons was in a contrasting fabric that I used for the front detail.
Want to make one your self ?
Step 1. Draw out what you want right onto the front of the shirt itself.
I used one of my favorite little girls dress patterns as a guide to draw out were I would cut in. Notice the lines extend all the way around the shirt so I would not be cutting any off the sides. I used a permenant marker to draw my lines because my fabric marker would not write on the corduroy and so they would show up in these pictures you can use something lighter if you like.
Step 2. Draw what your wanting on the back of your shirt on the back. If your lines are going to be continueus make sure that your pattern pieces aline at the sides, if not you will have a mess.
My lines from the front extend to the back and agian I used the top part to a dress pattern but this time cut it in half to give room for the gathering.
Step 3. Cut the whole thing out.
Mine was in one continueus cut all the way around.
Use the length of sleeves to cut out 2" wide binding strips.
Step 4. Pin and sew front and back shoulders together. Then pin and sew the back center seam.
If you are using the existing center button lining as contrast you will need to remove buttons and reverse the placement of the front and sew the two together.
Step 5. Gather up the front sides and pin the gathers to match up with the top and sew them together. Gather up the back center, pin to match and sew togther.
Step 6. Sew binding strips onto the neck and arms. Hem the bottom of tunic.
Voila Your Done!

Slippers for Sierra
It was supposed to be a project that she would be able to do ALL of the sewing but in the end she asked me for help. She wanted the slippers to have binding strips all the way around them and it was a major pain to do so I had to help her with it. She did pick all of the fabric that was used and how she wanted it to look!

Christmas Dress and Bolero
A Christmas dress for Sierra.
I have been working on this for awhile now. It consists of the dress with detachable sash, a bolero, new shoes, and new jewelry.
Yes, I used my own dress form to model the clothes, there is now someone else in the house that is almost the same size as me! I don't know if thats a good thing yet.

Girls Twirly Skirts
So, I drew one of my twin nieces and Sierra for the family children's gift exchange and this is what I came up with. I had to make another for the other niece, well not really I forgot which one I had so it made it easier to just make three.
Above is Brielee's skirt middle layer is longest and waist is one inch smaller than other pink skirt.
This pink one is Brynn's her second and third layers are both the same length.
Last but not least is Sierra's hers is like Brielee's but is Purple.

New Tunic For Sierra
Sierra picked fabric, trim and a button for her new tunic. Only thing I helped with was the trim and buttons. She arrived here and announced that we needed to make her a NEW Thanksgiving outfit. She did a great job!
